Rabea Ganz

Rabea Ganz joined the group in Fall 2026 as a Ph.D. student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at ETH Zurich. She received her B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Materials Science and Engineering from ETH Zurich in 2024. After graduating, Rabea worked at a consultancy start-up, focusing on the feasibility and regulatory aspects of recycling food-contact plastics. She then spent three months as an R&D engineer at a cleantech start-up, where she worked on the development of biocomposites. She is particularly motivated by translating scientific methods into real-world sustainable applications. In her Ph.D., she is studying novel membranes for pressure-driven distillation for desalination.

In her free time, Rabea is most likely to be found training for her next
triathlon or doing pottery.
